I think a lot of people gave up on developing and using Wrappers because of iffy performance, lack of future prospects and Mac's continued shift away from gaming. Performance compared to Windows is going to be significantly gouged. Wine Wrappers currently only use openGL and a Metal implementation would be a ton of work. The problem is MacOS runs an ancient version of openGL that they are phasing out in favor of their Metal API. Hell, their website only references Yosemite as the latest OS supported (although it still works with some tweaks). So just as a warning, Wine Wrappers seem to have gone by the wayside.
